Inbox By Gmail

Gmail is getting a lead makeover in Google’s hottest app – Inbox (iOS/Android). This app is totally free but available only on invitation basis for now. The app and web service is separate from Gmail, and it seeks to modify on how to organize your e-mails and it succeeds in giving it all new look.

It does this by categorizing every e-mail you get, as either a vital message that deserves space in your inbox, or as secondary update that can be lumped into a tag with other message like it. Google introduced this idea in the most recent version of Gmail from 2013, with a tabbed inbox, where the messages are grouped into labels automatically, for example Promotions, Update and Social. Inbox takes it further with more labels and new approach, to help eliminate mess from your email.

Your new inbox

The app’s design is simple and clean, and apparently swayed by Android Lollipop’s new Material design. Your inbox is in sequential order, with the messages from today at top, followed by the older emails. Any e-mail that shows up in priority inbox will appear there.
